Overview

Established in 1986, St. Mary's University offers three-year Bachelor of Arts degrees with concentrations in English, History, Psychology and General Studies, and four-year Bachelor of Arts degrees with majors in English and Psychology.

Through the synthesis of faith and reason, St. Mary's invites and challenges all individuals of the community to become compassionate, thoughtful and resourceful members of society.

A leader in post-secondary education, open to all, and focused on developing the whole person: mind, body and spirit. Founded on the Catholic Intellectual Tradition, St. Mary’s will prepare its students to live with integrity, compassion and confidence. Through the pursuit of knowledge and service to the community, we prepare our students to become lifelong learners, engaged citizens and compassionate members of society.

The institution also offers Canada's only two-year Bachelor of Education after degree that prepares teachers to teach in Catholic schools. A wide variety of university courses in 34 academic disciplines allow students to transfer credits to other Alberta and Canadian university programs, particularly in the biological sciences and business.

St. Mary’s University is a member of the Association of Catholic Colleges and Universities of Canada (ACCUC), the Association of Catholic Colleges and Universities (ACCU) and the International Federation of Catholic Universities (IFCU) .
